LIST OF VITAL PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN DURING 2007
SHIKSHA
- An initiative taken to eradicate illiteracy of Adivasi girl childrens in Adivasi Pada (village) at Aarey colony.
- Two orphan children were adopted at Adivasi village by Rotaract club of Mumbai Ghatkopar.
SWADES
- True to and inspired by the movie (Swades), we have adopted a village at the foot hills of matheran.
- Conducting multi-specialty medical checkup camps & donating first – aid kits.
AAHAR
- Donation of fruits & nutritious food to Dhanjidevasi School – a School for Special children.
- Teaching Art & Craft for e.g. Creations of Diyas, Kandil, Rakhi, Artificial flowers, etc & finding a market for the same.
CEREBRAL PALSY
- Check up camp done for the children suffering from cerebral palsy was conducted in association with Dr. Taral Nagda.
- This was followed up by a treatment camp for the same children.
MEDICINE DONATION BOXES
- We have placed medicine donation box at various provisional and medical stores.
- Such medicines are collected and donated to Municipality hospital.
FULL BODY CHECKUP CAMPS
- Full body checkup camps done at various places which includes-
- Dental checkup
- Eye-cataract operation, general body checkup
- Blood sugar level checkup.
THALASAEMIA MINOR AWARENESS
Spreading awareness about Thalassemia “A genetic blood disorder” to around 20,000 Youth at the Asia’s largest youth festival at Mood Indigo (I.I.T, Powai) in association with THINK foundation.
AIDS AWARENESS
Spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS to around 50,000 youth at Shopper Stop, Mukti foundation concert,online survey and Mood Indigo (I.I.T, Powai.)
LIFE SAVERS CLUB
Registration of 350 volunteers for the PLATELET donations.
PLATELET donations are necessary for patients affected by cancer, dengue, Malaria, bone narrow transplations etc.
SAAZ '08
A Grand musical evening with Star Voice of India Finalists- Irfan n Priyaani- an event to spread awareness about Thalassemia Minor was held at Fine Arts Society Auditorium (Chembur) with a crowd of more than 1200.Thalassemic kids enjoyed the show dancing away WITH Irfan n Priyaani.
